It is a well paced tour, designed to provide the opportunity to really savour the unique highlights of Bhutan’s western districts which offer diverse mountainous landscapes, a rich Buddhist heritage including monasteries, temples and chortens, historical fortresses and an extremely hospitable people. You will discover the vibrant history of Bhutan visiting the Ta Dzong Museum, Rimpong Dzong with its wooden cantilevered bridge and the infamous Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) in the beautiful Paro Valley. In Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, you will visit the The National Memorial Chorten, 12th century Changangkha Temple and the National Library exhibiting ancient scriptures before crossing the 3050m Dochula Pass with its 108 chortens, numerous prayer flags and spectacular Himalayan views into the sub-tropical Punakha Valley featuring the incredible Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakang, temple of the ‘Divine Madman’.
The Spirit of Bhutan tour exceeded our expectations and the itinerary we did was better than what had been outlined on TourRadar. There were some fantastic walks, and we took the option to go rafting which was a great experience (at additional cost). Our driver Namgay was extremely humble, and was in touch with the local traditions and culture. His smile made every activity a pleasure. The company can tailor make your holiday to suit your interests. We found it delightful that the owner of the company sat down for coffee and wanted to see how we felt about the tour.
During 8 days in Bhutan, we explored and learned a lot of things about Bhutan, visited several historical and gorgeous Dzongs ( fortresses) got to enjoy the Tshechu festive day Bhutan pound ( the tallest Buddha statue in Bhutan) cycled uphill to see the Takin trekked to see the divine mad man's monastery and above all hiked up to Tiger's Nest. The Guide was really professional and he made us feel like they were our friends. They were so punctual and had great attention to details. They took care of everything we asked . I myself never went on tour as I was always the lone traveler and roamed across most of Asian countries. This was eventually the first organized tour in my life and I had to say I was really satisfied with it
