Our Gosainkunda Trek is 7-days long mildly arduous trekking package which takes us through the natural wonders to the pristine and sacred glacier lake of Gosainkunda, situated north of Kathmandu. Gosainkunda Trek follows the remote and hidden trail into the sparsely populated area of the Langtang region.

The Gosainkunda Trek initiates from the beautiful hill town of Dhunche and moves through lush rhododendron and conifer woods in Langtang National Park. We then reach high alpine pasture land, high passes, glaciers and moraines to Lauribinayak Pass eventually leading us to the Gosainkunda Lake where Destroyer God- Shiva himself is speculated to have resided.

A ceremony is held in Gosainkunda Lake in every full moon of Bhadra (coincides with the English month of August) during which Shaman, Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims offer a visit to Gosaikunda Lake.  If you have the opportunity to make it during this time, you should!!
Salient features of Gosaikunda Tour encompasses 360 degree views of Majestic Mountains, visiting the most revered Gosainkunda Lake where Lord Shiva himself is deemed to reside, having close- up Mountain View and passing through Tamang and Sherpa Villages which lets you have rare chance of familiarizing with local traditions of those who have lived in the area throughout the years. Thus, Gosainkunda Trek is a perfect package that combines natural and cultural fascinations for an unforgettable experience.

Representative of ‘Adventure Himalayan Travels’ will pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu and take you to our Hotel where you will be shortly notified about your daily itinerary. Dinner will be served in the late evening.

Kathmandu Valley includes several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath (famous Hindu temple and cremation ground) Boudhanath (massive Buddhist stupa). We can also visit Swyambhunath, also known as Monkey Temple, which was built roughly 2000 years ago.  Finally, we can visit Patan, city of fine arts. In the afternoon, you will be meeting with your trekking guide and will check all the necessary things. Overnight stay at the hotel.

The road persists through twist and turns throughout the way whereby we will pass several cascading waterfalls and have views of green terrains and verdant forest. It takes about 7-8hrs drive to cover 119km distance to make it to Dhunche. Overnight in guest house.

The 3rd day of Gosainkunda Trek makes its way uphill through schools and gompas which takes us through the vibrant oak, fir and hemlock forests to lead to Sing Gompa- a Buddhist monastery located at 3330m. If time allows, we will explore around Sing Gompa to visit Yak cheese Factory where local cheeses are manufactured.

We begin our day by proceeding through the stupa of Sakyamuni which is further along the path and provides a spectacular view of the sparkling water of Saraswati Kunda all the way through Bhairab Kunda. Here, the path ascends uphill to Gosaikunda (4460m).  Overnight at guest house.

Your return trip from Gosainkunda begins on this day, as you will walk down from Gosaikunda to Dhunche. The trail descends all the way to Sing Gompa, passing Lauribanayak with magnificent mountain views and eventually arriving at Dhunche. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

On the second to final day, we will drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu by private vehicle. We will have breakfast in the morning at the guest house and begin the wonderful and scenic drive. It takes about five hours to reach the Capital City.  You will be transferred to the hotel once you reach the Capital. We'll have a celebratory Nepali dinner in the night.

Our representative will assist you in last moment preparation and will drive you back to Airport from where you will return to your beloved ones. We hope to see you again.
