    Pikey Peak Trek is a newly introduced trekking route in the lower Khumbu region of Phaplu, Solukhumbu. This trek is extensively renowned amongst adventure enthusiasts looking for more peaceful routes to get the majestic views of Mount Everest and enjoy the true charm of the Himalayas.

    The trekking trail to this Himalayan zone is covered with lush forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine. Throughout the journey, you will pass by several mesmerizing landscapes and terraced fields that are often less crowded yet present grand views of Dhaulagiri, Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga to the far west. Apart from majestic Himalayan views, it is a lifetime opportunity to discover unique geography and the life it supports.

    The exclusive Sherpa culture and their warm hospitality are very intriguing, including the sunrise and sunset over the giant peaks from the villages perched on ridgetops. The tea house accommodation along the trekking route is simple and offers very basic facilities. Trekking here is suitable for anyone willing to witness the Himalayan peaks and the customary lifestyle of Sherpa within a few days.

    Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Adventure Himalayan representatives will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. 

    After refreshments, you will be briefed, in short, about your tour by our guide or tour leader. If you have any questions or doubts about your trip, they should be asked and clarified at this time.

    In the morning, you will leave Kathmandu in our private jeep to Dhap Bazaar, following the Sunkoshi River, which joins the Tama Koshi River further ahead on our drive, forming a large Koshi River until reaching Ghurmi.

    You will see the Nepali culture, enjoy typical Nepali food, and continue to drive along the dense rhododendron forests, passing through numerous settlement areas before reaching Dhap Bazaar, which will take approximately 6 to 7 hours.

    You will explore the local bazaar and observe the lifestyle of the inhabitants here. Overnight at a lodge in Dhap Bazaar.

    After breakfast, you will continue along a dusty road leading to Sigane that moves forward towards the bumpy roads to Jhapre, which is famous for vantage points to view the mountains in the country’s northern region.

    From here, you will be able to get a crystal clear sight of Everest (8,848m), Numbur Himal (6,958 m), and others.

    On this day, you will visit some of the highly religious gompas and stupas in the village and stay overnight at a lodge in Jhapre.

    After Japre, you follow the trail, which climbs up to a grassy ridge at Bhulbhule that also provides you with nice views of the Everest range. Soon after Bhulbhule, the trail splits, and on the right turn is Pikey Peak.

    On this trail, you’ll pass some old yak houses and a long mani stone wall that contours the hillside below Taklung Danda and goes through a beautiful forest with sweet smells of multicolored rhododendron trees here along a level path (which you can see in bloom if trekking in the spring).

    As you leave the forest, it will take you around 2 hours to reach Pikey Peak base camp and stay overnight here.

    Today, you will start to trek to the famous viewpoint of Pikey Peak early in the morning. You will get to enjoy the stunning sunrise over the mountains such as Number Chuli (6,959 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), Kangtega (6,685 m), Khachenjuga (8,586 m), Manaslu (8,163 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Gaurishankar (7,134 m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Langtang, and especially in the Everest range.

    After taking in all the extensive panorama from Pikey Peak, you will descend to Jase Bhnajyang and spend the night in Junbesi.

    On this day, you will explore the village after the morning breakfast. First, you will hike up to Thuptenchholing Gompa, founded in the 19th century.

    Then gradually ascend uphill along the Junbesi Khola to the Gompa, offering in-depth insights into the culture and religious heritage of the region.

    After spending quality time here, you will return to Junbesi for lodging.

    After breakfast, you will follow the descending, dusty trail along the Junbesi Khola until you reach a steel suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge, you will reach Beni Ghat.

    The trail then takes you to the scenic pleasures before reaching Phaplu, where you will get to sample the local cuisine and drink while taking part in a traditional Sherpa cultural event.

    An early morning, 35-minute scenic flight from Phaplu will lead you back to the domestic airport in Kathmandu.

    From here, you will be driven back to your hotel.

    In the evening, you will join your team for a celebratory Nepali dinner.

    Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight, our personal representative will escort you to the international airport in a private vehicle.
