Telephone Services:

In Nepal, mobile phone and landline services are available. The network covers major cities, towns, and most of Nepal, including Kathmandu, except for some of the rural Himalayan villages.

The national service provider is Nepal Telecommunications Corporation in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu.

There are also private service providers. Likewise, some of the major hotels and private communication centers provide long-distance telephone and fax facilities.

Internet Services:

Kathmandu is widely facilitated by the Internet. There are uncountable Internet cafes and communication centers in the Valley and around the country. Various hotels and restaurants also provide good Wi-Fi services. The only thing that the visitors have to do is find a place of comfort to enjoy the advantage of keeping in touch with home.

Postal Services:

The Central Post Office, located near Dharahara Tower, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Friday. The counters are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and provide stamps, postcards, and aerograms. Post Restante is available from Sunday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Express Mail Service (EMS) is available at General Post Office (GPO) and Thamel, Basantapur, and airport postal counters.
