Early in the morning, you will board a scenic 25–40 minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla to officially begin the trek to reach Phakding in about three to four hours, viewing some of the iconic mountains such as Kusum Kangaru (6,367m), Mt. Nupla (5,885m), and others until you arrive at the destination of the day, Phakding.

From Phakding, a gentle ascent leads you to Jorsalle, passing through lovely waterfalls, verdant forests, and several other natural and cultural landmarks, all leading you to the Sherpa capital of Nepal, Namche Bazaar rewarding you with the first-ever sight of Kusum Kangru (6,369m), Thamserku (6,608m), Everest (8,848m), and Nuptse (7,879m).
The walk will be pleasing as you ascend gradually through beautiful woodlands of large firs, magnolias, and rhododendron trees, experiencing a slightly strenuous ascent to the charming settlement of Namche Bazaar in one of the local tea houses or guest houses.

Before proceeding to a higher elevation in the Himalayan region, it is important to acclimate well, for which you will have multiple choices: taking a side trip to Thame, Khunde, or Khumjung; hiking up to the Everest View Hotel to catch the most stunning panorama of the highest peak in the world, Mt. Everest (8,848m); or simply strolling around the Namche to admire the everyday life of Sherpa, famed for their extraordinary coping with the mountainous terrain.

Today, the trail dips sharply before crossing the Dudh Koshi River via the suspension bridge, from where the route flattens, passing through the woods of pine, rhododendrons, and a distant glimpse of snow-capped peaks.
After having lunch at Phakding, the trek continues to Lukla to spend the memorable last night with the trekking crew in the Khumbu region at a locally furnished teahouse.
