What to expect during the Best Nepal Tour?

The best Nepal holiday trip is unlike the short to long Himalayan treks, hikes, and climbs, such as the Langtang Valley Trek, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Everest Base Camp Trek, and the adventurous Annapurna Circuit Trek and Manaslu Circuit Trek. The physical fatigue is minimal, the chance of altitude sickness is almost zero, and a pleasurable Himalayan holiday experience awaits you.

In less than two weeks you will visit and explore some of the major sights of Nepal in all three regions: the hilly region in Kathmandu and visit Bandipur, the Himalayan region in Pokhara with a side hike to Sarangkot, and the Terai in and around the Chitwan National Park, one of the natural UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal after the Sagarmatha National Park, home to the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest (8,848.86 m).

Kathmandu - The Heart of Nepal

Composed of three significant ancient cities in Nepal: Kantipur (the old name of Kathmandu), Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, the Kathmandu Valley, besides being the trade hub of Nepal as the capital city, is also a cultural melting pot. Spread over an area of around 660-722 square kilometers, the valley is guarded by green hills perfect for short hikes and quick nature escapes, such as the Shivapuri Hike, Jamacho Hike, and Champadevi Hike.

If you like, you may extend the best Nepal tour of 10 days with hikes near Kathmandu, while the standard best Nepal trip package itinerary is with a guided Kathmandu UNESCO World Heritage Sites sightseeing tour. Early in the morning, you will visit the Pashupatinath Temple (one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the world), Boudhnath, Swyambhunath, and the vibrant Basantapur Durbar Square.

Nagarkot - The peaceful nature trail

The Nagarkot Viewpoint is a hill station located at an elevation of approximately 2,195 m/7,201 ft above Bhaktapur. From Kathmandu, it is about 32 km/19.88 miles east and usually a 1.5- to 2-hour drive depending upon the driving starting point, traffic, and road conditions at the current time. You can choose to directly drive up to Nagarkot or hike; regardless, the journey is scenic through lush forests, terraced farms, typical villages, and mountain views.

On the Best Nepal Tour early in the morning, you will leave Kathmandu for guided sightseeing around ancient Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square with several historical and cultural monuments like KrishanMandir, Golden Temple, Kumbheswor Temple, and the popular Nyatapola Pagoda, and later, before evening, head into Nagarkot to enjoy the sunset views, and the next morning, the sunrise over several snow-capped mountain ranges.

Bandipur - A Charming Newari Heritage Town

About 143-150 km (88.85-93.20 miles) west of Kathmandu, a 4.5- to 5.5-hour drive away, is Bandipur, offering one of the best Nepal cultural tours along the Prithvi Highway. Sitting at an altitude of 1,030- m-1,317 m above sea level on a hilltop, it boasts a well-preserved Newari culture, traditional architecture, cobbled streets, and a serene hilltop atmosphere, a perfect retreat from the fast-paced city life.

Above at the hilltop, time seems to have stopped, especially when you walk through the heritage houses full of wooden carved windows and the busy yet less chaotic bazaar. On a clear weather day, as you move forth via the Manakama Temple, one of the highly revered temples of Bhagwati, you can enjoy mind-blowing views of several mountain ranges, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Langtang.

Pokhara - The Himalayan serenity in the city

Often referred to as the official gateway to the Annapurna Region nestled in the lap of the 10th highest mountain in the world, Mount Annapurna (8,091 m), followed by iconic Machhapuchre (Fishtail) and also Dhaulagiri, with at least nine lakes, including the popular Phewa Lake, Pokhara is an adventurous paradise that blends serene natural beauty, urban comforts, and the thrill of several adrenaline-rushing activities.

Near the city at an altitude of 1,600 m/5,250 ft is the Sarangkot hill station, and for your best trip in Nepal, the 10-day itinerary includes a morning hike from Pokhara and enjoying the 360-degree awe-inspiring scenery, lush valleys, and turquoise lake below and snow-bathed peaks as far as you can see; it is sure to leave you with a sense of achievement, or you may choose from diverse things to do like paragliding, zip lining, and kayaking.

Chitwan National Park - The wildlife paradise

Once the royal hunting ground, the Chitwan National Park is the first national park of Nepal in the lowlands, a place serving as the perfect natural habitat for five of the majestic rare mammals, including the royal Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, one-horned rhino, sloth bear, and gharial (crocodile). Spanning over an area of 932 square kilometers and established in the year 1973, it was later recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1984.

The Best Nepal Tour concludes with a visit to the Chitwan National Park. With grasslands, dense forests, and low-current rivers, the park is home to a wide range of wildlife, a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. With a professional guide providing you with insights into the highlights of the park area and taking you to the places with more chances of wildlife sightseeing, including the Tharu culture, make the best out of your journey with us.

Useful Info

When is the right time for the best tour experience in Nepal?

You will be happy to know that the Nepal Tour, which explores the best of Nepal, is doable throughout the year, from January to December. Four of the seasons—spring, autumn, winter, and monsoon (summer)—present you with something unique to marvel at. If dressed and prepared accordingly, touring is feasible and rewarding even during winter and summer, the times of the year taken as off-seasons for high-altitude treks and climbs.

However, if you are more keen on the stable weather, mild temperature, clear skies, and blooming trails in the Himalayas, spring and autumn, typically spanning from March to April and September to November, are just the right times of the year for the Best Nepal Tour. Winter can be cold, and it rains frequently in summer, leading to slippery and muddy roads, so be extra cautious.

Food and accommodation during the Best Nepal Trip Tour

During the Best Nepal Tour with Adventure Himalayan Travels and Treks, we offer three-star hotel accommodations in Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Bandipur, and Pokhara, as well as a resort in Chitwan. While you may opt for five-star hotels, it is with a slightly increased price; if you like, we can arrange it for you. Mostly in urban areas, you can choose from a variety of menus: Nepalese, Tibetan, or continental for meals and breakfast.

If you have any specific dietary requirements, like lactose-free, fully vegetarian, or less spicy, let us know while booking. Or suppose you are looking forward to trying local delicacies such as Dal-Bhat-Tarkari (steamed rice with lentil soup and seasonal vegetables, sometimes with non-veg), a must-try staple Nepalese dish, while you are in Nepal. In that case, we are happy to manage it for you. Budget-friendly, filling, and nutritious Dal-Bhat-Power-24-Hours.

Must you get travel insurance for the best trip to Nepal?

Yes, proper insurance is 100% recommended. It is due to the uncertainty of life, and often the flights in Nepal are subject to delays due to the changing nature of the Himalayan weather. Comprehensive travel insurance provides you peace of mind while visiting Nepal and its popular tourist destinations: Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Bandipur, Pokhara, and Chitwan. Contact your local agent and make sure the policy includes loss and theft of goods.

In an unknown country that may have a totally different lifestyle, culture, and geographical conditions than what you are used to, it is always better to hire a local professional guide. In case of emergencies, guides assist you immediately, such as with trip cancellations due to personal reasons and the occurrence of unforeseen circumstances. Such events are covered by insurance; financial protection lets you focus on yours.

Client Reviews
  • Beautiful round trip

    rating

A great organized trip we were allowed to experience with 2 people. From Kathmandu along the Himalayan mountain range to the jungle of the south. Experienced, both culturally and geographically, with impressions that can hardly be put into words. A warm welcome at Kathmandu airport by Rana with driver to the hotel with initial briefing and information on the next day with beautiful flight in bright sunshine along the Himalayan mountains. We got the next few days a guide and driver with comfortable vehicle (compact SUV). Both were available to us constantly informative (guide) and with safe driving (driver) and have led us to the most interesting sights we would hardly have seen otherwise. We hardly had to worry about anything, (entrance etc.) everything was done reliably by the guide. Had we ever been alone and had not known further, no problem, Rana and guide were always available by phone or WhatsApp and could have helped to feel good security. At all stations of the trip we almost felt at home, as if good acquaintances were accompanying us. Farewell we were able to do a few small individual shopping wishes in Kathmandu with Rana samsame and also got some small parting gifts. Therefore full score for a recommended tour provider. Thank you Rana!
