Nepal Buddhist Tour at ‘Adventure Himalayan Travels and Treks' is a 9-day long tour covering all prominent Buddhist sites around Kathmandu Valley and proceed to the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, the enlightened one in Lumbini.
Buddha, who visited Earth more than 2500 years back, is highly revered throughout the world as the Light of Asia. He was a crown prince of the Ancient kingdom of Kapilvastu, which currently exists in Lumbini in the family of King Suddhodhana and Queen Mayadevi. Thus, Lumbini is the must-visit place for every Buddhist around the globe.
The fact that Nepal has seen religious tolerance and respect towards each others’ religion for many years is supported by the numerous stupas, chaityas and monasteries that remain scattered throughout Nepal alongside the Hindu Temples.
Our Nepal Buddhist Tour takes you through the colossal Bouddhanath Stupa, Buddhist Monastery at Kapan, and Swayambhunath Stupa, deemed to be among the most ancient stupas of the world as it was discovered somewhere around 2000yrs back. Also, we visit the Pharping Monastery near Kathmandu Valley and the World Peace Stupa in Pokhara before heading to Lumbini where we will observe the ruins of Ancient Kapilvastu City. The tour ends in Kathmandu, and may your spirit will be filled from this wonderful experience.

Representative of ‘Adventure Himalayan Travels and Treks’ will pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu and take you to your hotel where you will be shortly notified about your daily itinerary.
Early in the morning, we will begin Nepal Buddhist Tour by visiting Bouddhanath, the largest stupa in Nepal and the most sacred Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside Tibet. After, we will head towards Kopan Monastery the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery just outside of Bouddhanath. It is a popular place for foreigners to learn about Buddhism meditate. Finally, we move to Patan, where we visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Patan Durbar Square. Overnight in hotel.
This day we will visit Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as Monkey Temple, which is believed to be the world’s oldest Stupa, dating back more than 2000yrs. Afterwards, we head to Pharping Monastery, also known as Guru Drubney Pema Osel Ling Monastery, located atop a hill on the peaceful outskirts Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
We drive about 6-7 hours along the Prithvi Highway to Pokhara. In the evening, we will visit nearby Tibetan Refugee Camp. Besides this, you can explore how you would like. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
After an early breakfast, we will head towards the World Peace Pagoda. We'll take the rest of the day to explore Phewa Lake, Seti River George, Davi’s Fall, K.I. Singh Bridge and Mahendra Cave. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
It takes about 7hrs of driving to reach Lumbini, which is the birthplace of Lord Buddha as confirmed by the Ashoka Pillar. If time permits, we will visit Lumbini Crane Sanctuary. Overnight at hotel in Lumbini.
While in Lumbini, we will visit Sacred Buddha Maya Garden, the Maya Devi Temple, and various Buddhist Monasteries/Temples to gain information on meditation and Buddha. Lumbini is a major pilgrimage sight for Buddhists all over the world, and a fascinating place to visit. Overnight in hotel.
About 205km of road needs to be covered to return back to Kathmandu. About 8-9 hours of scenic driving will bring us back to Kathmandu. Farewell dinner in the evening and overnight at hotel.
Our representative will assist you in last moment preparation and will drive you back to Airport from where you will return to your beloved ones. We hope to see you again.
