  • Stay in the traditional Sherpa village and meet local people

This world famous trek takes us up to Everest Base Camp after passing through Namche Bazaar, Lukla, Tengboche and the whole of Solukhumbu, which is nestled beneath Mount Everest and the majestic Ama Dablam (6812). The Everest Trek is one of the most thrilling adventure treks for excitement-seekers.

The Khumbu region, commonly known as the Everest Region, is the home of Mt. Everest (8848m), the highest mountain in the world.  Though, it is also home to the Sherpa ethnic group, famous for their remarkable hospitality and their climbing capabilities.  The famed Sherpa people, whose lives are interwoven with the teachings of Buddhism, and monuments of Tibetan Buddhism (prayer flags, mani walls, etc.) add much charm to the trail.  The allure of trekking in the Khumbu area does not come only from trekking and expeditions, but also from Sherpa culture. You will enjoy learning a lot about Sherpa culture while visiting this region.

The trek begins with a hike from Jiri to Lukla. Flying to Lukla is the best option for visitors who have limited time. It is best to book your flight with a few days of leeway, as flights to and from Lukla can often be delayed depending on weather conditions. However, helicopter services and chartered flights are also available as per your request.

The vegetation at lower levels is dominated by silver fir, birch, rhododendron and juniper trees; at around 4500m the forest gives way to juniper, rhododendron, and other shrubs. The park contains a variety of mammals: the Himalayan thar, musk deer, the Himalayan red panda and the Himalayan black bear are all native to the park. The renowned Tengboche and other monasteries are common gathering places to celebrate religious festivals such as Dumje and Mane Rimdu. In addition to Tengboche, Thame, Khumjung and Pangboche are some other famous monasteries that you will come across on your travails in this region.

The personal items, in fact, are of individual interest, choice & the luxury. Besides, the most important fact he/she must consider is the time of the year, trekking days, region & altitude.

                              Foot wears:

                              • Hiking boots with some ankle support
                              • Training type shoes

                              Clothes:

                              • Cotton shirts, T- shorts, jeans, etc. for day use.
                              • Socks and underwear - 4/5 that can be easily washed and dried on daily basis.

Teahouse trek is very popular in the well - developed tourist regions including Annapurna, Everest and Langtang - Helambu regions where western, continental meals, Nepalese meal (Dalbhat), and good accommodation with attached bathroom with hot and cold shower are available in most of the places. This type of trekking offers you good food, good accommodation in the available teahouses & lodges. Camping trek is best called as Fully Organized Supported Trek. As exploratory or mountaineering expeditions, camping Trek is also organized in the same style. Camping trek includes a team of guide, cook, sherpa, & porters to give you accompany. Our porters carry all trekking gears, food, fuel, & personal belongings, & our cooks & assistant prepares hot meals & carry out, supervises the whole operations. Trekkers should carry only small bag or what they might need during the day. At night, they are provided dining tents, sleeping tents, & toilet tents, mattress, down sleeping bags as well.

                            • The government of Nepal no longer requires a trekking permit for Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, and some other regions. However, conservation permit or National park permits are required for these regions. There are few restricted trekking areas in Nepal, where trekking permits are required.

                            • For the general trekking areas such as the Everest, the Annapurna, the Langtang & Rara, trekking permit is not required. But the following places should be obtained trekking permit:

                              rating

This two-week Mount Everest Bascamp, roundtrip from a Lukla Airport, over its 100+ miles long and there mile elevation, gave me a great sense of accomplishment. My personal guide Mann was very patient with this senior hikers slow pace. His assistance on the two days we were climbing in the rain and dark until 9:30 PM was a Godscend. He held on to me as we trod in the pouring rain over steep, rocky terrain lit by the flashlight on his cellphone. The guesthouses and meals in those facilities provided a comfortable, clean respite between the segments of the trek.

Rana was wonderful to work with on my diverse Nepali program. I started with a few out of the ordinary places in Kathmandu Valley and had a wonderfully knowledgeable guide throughout. I then went on a trek to Tengboche coupled with an absolutely fabulous (Do it!!!) helicopter trip to Kala Pathar. Then went to Lumbini, with a different but equally qualified guide. As time was tight, Rana was able to make it possible that I could fit all that I wanted to do into just a few weeks. This was my fifth time in Nepal and it was as fascinating as the first time. I hope I'll be back!
