Our Kathmandu and Pokhara Tour package is a perfect post-wedding getaway for you and your newlywed. The tour kicks of in Kathmandu, where you will explore the city's several UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambunath (also known as Monkey Temple), and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Each place is rich in culture and history. Swoyambunath is full of symbolism and is one of the oldest religious sites in Nepal (over 2000 years old!). The Buddhist temple offers an incredible view of Kathmandu. Pasupatinath Temple is the most famous Hindu temple in the country. You can see sadhus (holy men) meditating, pilgrims bathing, and bodies being cremated on the banks of the Bagmati River. Last, but not least, Bhaktapur Durbar Square is an ancient Newari kingdom located just outside of Kathmandu, on the way to Nagarkot.
Later that day, we take a short drive to Nagarkot, arriving in time for the sunset. Nagarkot is absolutely stunning and you'll get a clear view of the Himalayan range from here. The next day, you'll up for an early morning breakfast to watch the sunrise behind these pristine peaks. Then, enjoy the 10 minute cable car ride up to Manakamana Temple, a famous worship site for Hindus. The same day, we reach to Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city and popular destination for adventure tourism. We head to Sarangkot for an exquisite tour of several famous sites: Bindawasini Temple, Davi's Fall, Gupteswar Cave, and Seti Gorge. Head back to Pokhara and see the sights you missed before heading back to Kathmandu the next day. This package is a perfect way to make the most of your six days with your loved one.
Adventure Himalayan Travels and Treks organized a good tour, The manager Rana was quite helpful in answering my questions before the tour and also was quite helpful in making last minute changes to accommodate some of my requests - for eg trying to do a helicopter flight to Annapurna, etc. The guide Sanjaya Khanal was excellent! He was quite knowledgeable and friendly. He made the whole experience quite enjoyable since he gave me great company throughout the whole trip. Sanjaya also helped to arrange paragliding for me at very short notice which was the highlight of my trip. The driver Krishna was also very good and patiently drove us the almost 12 hrs it took to go from Pokhara to Kathmandu (because of Dussehra festival traffic) The one regret I had was not being to go on a mountain flight to Annarpurna/Everest because of weather. But thats not any fault of the tour operator. Some of the hotels in the smaller places (Nagarkot) could have been better, but overall, not bad. Overall I really enjoyed the tour.
