After taking breakfast, we move uphill for about 2.5 hours, and then have an easy trail for 3 hours.  After that, we have reached Gatlang, our destination for the day.  Gatlang is a pretty Tamang Village that locates itself at an altitude of 2240m altitude height in a distance of about 5-6 hours walking from Syabrubesi village. While at Gatlang, we will be visiting a Tibetan monastery and exotic Parvatikunda Lake.

Early in the morning we will be descending to Thangboche, located along Bhote Koshi River. near to Chilime Village.  Walking uphill for brief period will lead us to a natural Hot Spring which goes by the name of Tatopani.  The waters are said to cure skin ailments, and will also help relieve our muscles.  Enroute, we will have views of Langtang Range and Ganesh Himal.

This is a relatively short and easy walk.  We stop for a tea break at Brimdang (2848m), a small Tamang village.  We continue up the hill after our tea break, where we find Nagthali, a village with beautiful mountain views.  Overnight in guest house.

After breakfast, we make our way toward Briddim.  We stop in Thuman for a tea break.  Along the way, we see Buddhist monuments and other artifacts of Tibetan culture.  There is a steep ascent before we reach to Briddim, where we will sleep at a homestay.  This is a memorable part of the journey.

The trail follows the easy gradual incline through the jungle, where we find tons of different birds species, including the Danfe, Nepal's national bird.  We continue on to Khanjim, which takes about two hours.  Here, we observe the beautiful hills while having a cup of tea.  After three more hours of hiking on moderate the moderate trail, we arrive to our destination.  Overnight in tea house.

After some 20 minutes of relaxed walking, we reach Langtang River.  Continuing along the riverbank for another 2.5 hrs, we stop for tea at a village called Bamboo. From here, we trek another half an hour to reach Lama Hotel.  From here, the trail rises through rhododendron forests along the banks of Langtang Khola.  Here we have a break for lunch.  After lunch, the trail becomes easier and wider.  Views of Langtang Lirung can be seen along the way. Eventually we arrive to Ghoda Tablela.  Overnight in guest house.

After leaving Ghoda Tabela, we walk through a lush, semi-tropical jungle.  After three hours of hiking, we reach Langtang Valley, were this is a large settlement of Tamang and Tibetan people.  With close views of Langtang Lirung, Ganjala, and Naya Khangga, we have our lunch.  Afterwards, the upward trail passes Mani stones, and chhortens, adding a bit of charm to the trail.  You will see that Langtang Khola is getting closer and the valley becomes wider and wider.  Finally, we climb up the rocky moraine and reach Kyanjin Gompa.

Kyanjin Gompa is the last permanent settlement with a small gompa and a cheese factory.  Use it as a base for day hikes, exploring the upper valley or climbing the hill north of Kyanjin called Tsergori (5033m).  Tsergori lies up the valley from Kyanjin.  The upper valley is surrounded by spectacular snow peaks, including fluted peak Langtang Lirung and the Tibetan Droje Lakpa.  There is plenty to explore in the area! Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.

There are lots to explore in and around Kyanjin Gompa. We can unravel the glaciers and take a short trek to the Himalayan Yak pastures. rating

Had an amazing trek thru Langtang Valley, it was quite challenging in parts but all three ladies got thru with the help of our great guide and porter. The highlight was Kyanjin Gompa where it snowed overnight and we awoke to the majestic Himalayas and surrounds all white and the sky was blue and the sun shining. I would definitely recommend this trip it seems remote so not many tourists as on other treks I have been on, the accommodation is very adequate and the meals excellent. Thanks Rani for your help and for looking after us before and after the trip.

                                  rating

On 6/3/2020 we commenced our 15 trekking tour to Tamang Heritage and Langtang Vally. The holiday was booked through TourRadar with the Adventure Himalayan Travels & Trek PL. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience trekking through some of the most majestic mountain range areas I've personally ever experienced. Each day we woke to a new adventure with different landscapes and beautiful little villages. We met some fantastic people on our journey. Although some days were challenging it's was well worth the achievements each day. Our guide and porter were extremely good and really looked out for us during our trip. My main advice make sure you put some effort into doing some hill training prior to trip. Loved my trekking holiday
