This world famous trek takes us up to Everest Base Camp after passing through Namche Bazaar, Lukla, Tyangboche and the whole of Solukhumbu, which is nestled beneath Mount Everest and the majestic Ama Dablam (6812). The Everest Trek is one of the most thrilling adventure treks for excitement-seekers.
The Khumbu region, commonly known as the Everest Region, is the home of Mt. Everest (8848m), the highest mountain in the world. Though, it is also home to the Sherpa ethnic group, famous for their remarkable hospitality and their cclimbing capabilities. The famed Sherpa people, whose lives are interwoven with the teachings of Buddhism, and monuments of Tibetan Buddhism (prayer flags, mani walls, etc.) add much charm to the trail. The allure of trekking in the Khumbu area does not come only from trekking and expeditions, but also from Sherpa culture. You will enjoy learning a lot about Sherpa culture while visiting this region.
The trek begins with a hike from Jiri to Lukla. Flying to Lukla is the best option for visitors who have limited time. It is best to book your flight with a few days of leeway, as flights to and from Lukla can often be delayed depending on weather conditions. However, helicopter services and chartered flights are also available as per your request.
The vegetation at lower levels is dominated by silver fir, birch, rhododendron and juniper trees; at around 4500m the forest gives way to juniper, rhododendron, and other shrubs. The park contains a variety of mammals: the Himalayan thar, musk deer, the Himalayan red panda and the Himalayan black bear are all native to the park. The renowned Tengboche and other monasteries are common gathering places to celebrate religious festivals such as Dumje and Mane Rimdu. In addition to Tengboche, Thame, Khumjung and Pangboche are some other famous monasteries that you will come across on your travails in this region.

We did the Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return in March of 2020, and had an excellent experience. I highly recommend Adventure Himalayan Travel for this trek. From the moment Rana picked us up at the airport with welcome marigolds we knew we were in good hands. Rana and his team took care of every detail, from hotel bookings to lodging, the transit to Lukla and much more. Rana was very responsive with all email correspondence and even helped negotiate some beautiful Nepalese tapestries! Our guide and porter were exceptional and helped us every step of the journey. It was a great value for the price, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with them.
My husband and I had a fantastic time on the EBC trek. What made it special was our lovely guide Suman who seems to know everyone on the mountains, made our trek pleasant and told us lots of stories and culture. We felt we were well looked after and the portions of the meals were huge. Mr Rana personally welcomed us and we are thankful for his company Adventure Himalayas for organising this unforgettable tour.
We had an incredible experience and will never forget our time climbing to EBC. Thank you! The tour company had everything well organised for me and my travelling buddy, we always felt like we were in good hands. The trek was challenging but not too strenuous and we had plenty of time to relax, take in the views, eat & drink and enjoy ourselves en route. Suman was always checking on us especially at the higher altitudes for signs of altitude sickness. We had mild symptoms but were fine. Food was as good as anyone is going to get on a bare mountain range - i do miss a good Dhal Bhat and the Momos. If you like hot spicy food ask to try the local chillis they are insane! The choices of accommodation en route tended towards the cheaper options but we perfectly fine, just be prepared it's rarely going to be cosy (we didn't mind at all). Overall fantastic experience!
We did the Everest Trek + Helicopter tour and it was probably one of the best trips I've ever taken! Rana was helpful providing details on what we needed for the trek, etc. before we even arrived. He met us at the airport with our awesome guide, Durga, and briefed us on everything before setting off. The trek was amazingly gorgeous, and our guide was helpful and knowledgable hroughout it all. The helicopter ride back at the end was the cherry of top of the adventure. Would highly recomment this trip to anyone! Show less
